What are the molecular pathways that dictate organ morphogenesis, specifically that of the mammalian heart? What is the developmental and molecular ontogeny of the specific heart defects observed in children with Congenital Heart Disease? What is the molecular basis of cardiovascular system evolution into a form that can support terrestrial life? These intertwined questions form the basis for the investigations in the Moskowitz laboratory. We use genetic, molecular, and biochemical methods to investigate the molecular basis of cardiac morphogenetic events implicated in Congenital Heart Disease.
